I like big horses…

I like big horses…
And I cannot lie… 😉

This weekend our family got to experience something unique: The Young Living Percherons were in Indiana for the Midwest Classic Draft Horse show & pull!

Watching the Young Living Percherons perform in the six horse hitch is always a highlight for our family!

We first met these gentle giants at the Mona Utah lavender farm, when I earned a trip to Silver Retreat through my business. Jerome was five months old at the time, and every mare in the barn wanted to get big whiffs of him- it was almost like babies were aromatherapy for horses!

We traveled to Shipshewana both nights to watch the horse pull, the cart classes and the fan favorite- the six horse hitch!

There are two rounds of judging, with a winner picked each night. Friday night we were on hand to see Yeam YL take first place out of 16 hitches! You can watch their victory lap here:

So proud of these large ambassadors for our company, and how well they compete! It’s also so fun for our family, and it gives us a common goal to cheer for them when we have the chance to see them in action!

Some people ask WHY Young Living has these equine ambassadors… well over a decade ago the founder of Young Living saw Percherons in action at a stock show, and decided they’d be the perfect addition to the Mona farm, pulling wagons and helping in the fields. He also decided they would have the best of the best, and since then they’ve developed some of the best 6 horse hitches seen in the United States. In fact, last fall my younger son & I watched them be crowned World Champions for 2021!

Ezra met his first draft horse about 3 years ago, and he’s been in love with horses ever since! In fact, he talks of little else… so the main reason we go is so he can get his “horse cup” filled, because we live in town, and a pony just isn’t an option quite yet!

Our family enjoys going so much, and I hope these photos give you a glimpse of just how much we love these ginormous creatures and the spectacle that surrounds them!
