Homework (and homeschool) helpers- Morning EO starts

As I write this, our family is finishing our sixth week of homeschooling. (We took one week off for vacation already!) I really did not see that being our path, even though my husband and I were both homeschooled. But I also did not expect to be raising virtual twins, plus an extra baby, so… here we are!

Learning math with our insect counting kit!

I had a couple friends tell me I was crazy, (what’s new, I said haha) because in our state you don’t have to start homeschooling until your child is seven. My oldest is currently five. But with two in preschool and three in various stages of potty learning, I knew creating some rhythm in our home school now would make the next few years easier… especially the years when we need to keep records and be accountable to the state for our schooling.

Regardless of how your children are being schooled, I know what a big decision it was. My heart and prayers go out to the mamas who faced those almost impossible decisions again this year. Know that I believe you made the best possible decision you could!

No matter where your child is learning, I do have some tips for helping them when they are home, be it during homework or just as you rise to start the day.

First of all, fire up your diffuser every single morning! I love how turning on one diffuser in our kitchen can benefit everyone in our home, as we all journey through that area multiple times a day. Plus it’s a great way to give your kids a little added Clarity or Brain Power right away, without them even realizing it!

A stylish diffuser is perfect for your living room or wherever studying happens.

An ultrasonic diffuser uses vibrations to disperse teeny tiny bits of oil into the air, so everyone smells them and breathes in their various benefits. Plus it’s easy to set it & forget it! (You can buy the super cute & trendy Ember diffuser here!)

First up is Brain Power, an amazing blend of essential oils created just to help you clear your mind and focus on the tasks ahead, tops my list of school themed Young Living needs! Just a drop or two in the diffuser will go a long way. Alternatively, a drop at the base of the neck, near the brain stem is my application space of choice.

Brain Power essential oil blend by Young Living is perfect for homework or homeschool!

This is a good blend for times when learning a new skill or overcoming an obstacle where you hear your kid uttering the infamous “I can’t…” phrase! Remind them to change their mindset to “I can’t…. YET!” and bless them with a drop of Brain Power to help enforce the learning process of the brain.

As I mentioned above, Clarity is a super way to start the day, especially if you need to take advantage of those precious fleeting moments before your crew heads out the door. It has strong basil base, which seems to awaken the mind and help prepare you for the day. We also like rubbing a little on feet or chest, and breathing DEEP!

We love Young Living’s Clarity essential oil blend for waking up & shaking off brain fog!

Basil is known for being an anchoring oil to a thought you carry through each day, so use this when speaking life over your kids as they start their school day or get ready to leave the home. I personally love using Clarity to anchor my AFT affirmation each morning because it just helps bring it clear in my mind that my efforts to change lifestyle patterns is worthy of my time!

The last oil blend I’m really liking for morning starts, GeneYus, is from our kids specific line, KidScents, which makes it safe & easy to use oils on children aged four and up. I like taking the guess work out of using oils safely, and you can’t go wrong with this line!

GeneYus is an essential oil blend made specifically for children aged four and older- easy to use because it is prediluted!

GeneYus is a little bit like Brain Power for kids, but it is prediluted and comes in more affordable as a result. Even with dilution, you can diffuse this blend, though my favorite use is popping a roller top on it and rubbing down the spine right before breakfast! You can even use this fun “Slime” recipe to add it to for sensory time!

How have you been incorporated your lovely bottles of plant juice in your home routine so far this school year?
