Let’s talk lavender 💜
Are you a lavender junky? 💜👋🏼 I totally am! Not only do I love the color of lavender, but the essential oil was what I jokingly call my “gateway” oil, because it paved the way for me to jump into oils and learn all I could about their uses.

(Psst lavender is a huge component of Stress Away, the free 200 PV oil blend this month!)

I initially loved lavender for its relaxing scent, plus it is so versatile to have on hand for skin irritations and minor burns. It’s so gentle it’s my go-to for the kids, plus the scent is calming when I’m using it on them for first aid. But lavender, it turns out, really is next level!

Here’s something totally cool I learned about lavender this past week-

💜 A study at the University of Miami found that smelling lavender increased beta waves in the brain, showing a higher of level relaxation was achieved!

Beta waves are high-frequency brainwaves produced throughout daily activities. They occur when you are alert, focused, and excited. Beta waves help logical thinking and have a stimulating effect on the brain. The right amount of beta waves allows us to focus during day-to-day activities.

💜 Osaka Kyoiku University also did a study that found the scent of lavender reduced mental stress and increased alertness!

Relaxing and also keeping me alert? Sign me up!

💜 There have also been several studies done, one on premature infants even, that lavender helps reduce pain because when inhaled it creates brain waves similar to being held by your mother.

Soooooooo it’s kind of like a hug in a bottle!
