Life takes unexpected turns, and sometimes our passions and hobbies need to take a backseat during these significant changes. As an adoptive parent, I understand the joy, unique challenges, and busyness that come with the journey of adopting two children. However, now that we have settled into our new roles and routines, I am excited to return to something I hold dear – personal blogging. Join me as I rediscover my voice and share the stories, adventures and lessons learned along the way.

Learning to be a new family!

Even though we had raised our adopted children from the ages of 3 weeks and 17 months, when we adopted them from foster are after a 3 year case, we experienced a lot of changes! We have gone through several “seasons” as a family, including having our high needs kids escalate in behaviors from time to time. Many many times I have felt unprepared for what we were (and are) going through, and I had a season of depression while I struggled with barely being able to meet our family’s needs. It was very hard to set aside my work, as all I could handle many days and weeks was helping our family. I’ve recommitted to getting back to work and we’ve set new goals as a family to help make that happen!

Despite the variety of expressions here, our children have all embraced our family hobby of hiking! We look forward to sharing more of our adventures in nature and the new places we explore!

Homeschool!   Hiking!   Health!

(Bonus points if you read that in a Dwight Shrute voice! I’m a huge “The Office” fan!) With restarting this blog, I realized I wanted to share the adventures our family has had through homeschooling, plus I love telling people about the new places we explore while hiking! And recently a close friend reminded me how very truly I made major health transformations from when she first met me a decade ago, to now, and she challenged me to keep sharing that story! When I was thirty-three, I was so sick I would photoshop out the dark circles under my eyes… and now she says I’m a “guru” of helping people detox and get back to health, so I think it’s time to make that a part of what I talk about here!

Our family added Ralph, the “homeschool cat” this summer! He went from an extremely lucky kitten to have been rescued by my husband in a busy parking lot to a treasured member of the family who gets held while he naps and read to during school time!

Helping others is my purpose!

The other reason I wanted to get back to work is because I use this blog to communicate with many of my Young Living team, and doing that is my real purpose in life! I love helping others, and in addition to my personal blog, in the coming weeks I’ll be offering an email list just about YL tips and offers! Be on the lookout for that list to join, plus we now offer our active team members (anyone who’s ordered in the last 6 months) free biofeedback assessments, which help target the supplements and oils your unique body needs! Details coming soon for how to schedule one, but if you can’t wait- just let me know!

While the last 6 or so months have been humbling at times, especially on days where I have to live on my BioMat to help combat the chronic fatigue, I’m reminded I’m still here for a purpose….and that is to help others!

No one is alone when I’m around.

Going through all that I have in recent months has just reminded me of how precious a resource true health is…. And also that we have so many answers to the needs of true health thanks to being a part of Young Living! In addition to sharing my stories and talking about what products are useful for different areas of life, I want to just remind you a part of my job is customer service and helping you with anything from a missing item in your latest package to helping you sign up a friend who needs oils! I plan to share more about how I’ve been handling depression in future days, but for now, I’m grateful I can show up and help if you need me.

Our family is incredibly grateful for you helping support us through the years- encouraging us, buying from our business and even helping us fundraise to adopt and expand our family. This community we have is so special and thank you for being a part of it! ~Naomi
